THE FAERIE RING by Kiki Hamilton tells the story of Tiki, an orphan teen on the streets of London in 1871. Tiki survives by pickpocketing and swiping food for herself and her family of orphans-- Fiona, Toots, Shamus and little Clara.

One day, Tiki finds herself being chased by her latest victim and ends up hitching a ride on a carriage in hopes of a clean escape. During the ride, Tiki falls asleep and when she wakes, she finds herself at a stranger's house. Next thing she knows, voices begin to echo throughout the home. Immediately, Tiki begins running, looking for a place to hide. She decides to take cover in the library room, that is until she hears the men's voices getting closer and scrambles to hide, yet again.

Once the coast is clear, Tiki emerges from her hiding place and realizes the gentlemen who entered the room left something behind, a ring. Imaging the worth of the ring, as well as the number of meals it could provide for her and her family, Tiki pockets it. It's not until she exits the house and turns back to look at it, that she realizes where she was... Buckingham Palace.

Turns out Tiki stole the Queen's ring! Once the Queen finds out that her very important ring is missing, she and her sons announce they will offer a reward to whoever finds it. Of course Tiki wants this reward, as the money would allow her to provide a real home for her family.

Seems simple, right? Not quite. The Queen's ring is actually an ancient peace agreement between humans and the "Fey." Once the Fey learn the ring is no longer in the Queen's possession, they seek the one that has it.

Enter Rieker, a young man who is smitten with Tiki. Rieker knows that Tiki stole the ring and will do everything in his power to keep her safe from the Rogue Faeries, Larkin and Marcus. But will his protection be enough?

THE FAERIE RING is a magnificently woven tale of love, trust and deceit, with the perfect mix of fantasy and danger. An absolute must read. Hamilton definitely let her imagine fly when she penned this tale!
